"An introduction to the magic of lace knitting. Through swatching, we explore different types of stitch patterns, and how to work them. We also talk about how to read patterns, making sure you’re confident with both written and charted instructions. We’ll also talk about how to identify, fix and prevent mistakes, and provide tips for making lace easier and more fun. If you’ve got a lace project you want to tackle, bring it so we can make sure we work on the skills you need."⁠

🧦An unmissable chance to expand your knitting skills! Circular knitting, picking up stitches, shaping heels and toes, and more! Whether you plan to make socks for everyone you love, or are just looking to get more comfortable with new techniques, this class is for you. 🧦⁠

Learn how to knit top-down socks. Starting with a mini “training sock”, we teach you everything you need to know to knit socks – from working in the round to turning the heel to shaping the toe. Once you’ve mastered the mini, we get you started on your first full-size sock. Along the way, we share lots of tips and techniques, including easy ways to join the round – without twisting! — handling the gusset pickup, and a beginner-friendly no-graft toe. If you’ve not made socks before, this is the class for you. Kate also demonstrates Magic Loop and patterns provided permit use of both DPNs, magic loop or two circulars.⁠

There is less than one week left in our Socktober

There is less than one week left in our Socktober Challenge with @stashlounge and @little.red.mitten. We’re a little behind in donations so we are sweetening the deal!

As of time of posting, we are at about 250 pairs. First prize is a combo pack of gear and yarn valued at over $250. But if we can reach 450 pairs of socks donated, we will do a second draw for these four beautiful skeins of @lichenandlace 80/20 sock yarn!

Drop off your donated pairs of unused, factory-made socks to our location at 86 Nassau anytime before 6pm on October 31st. Each pair counts as an entry into the draw. Help us show the other shops that our community rocks! All sock donations go to @evasinitiatives.
