Tit Bits with Beryl: A Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness
October 22, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Cost: $Pay what you can ($25 suggested donation)
Teacher: Beryl
Dates: Monday, October 22nd from 6-8 pm
In the autumn of 2005, Beryl Tsang published her pert and cheeky Tit Bit pattern on Canadian online knitting magazine, Knitty.com. Since then, it has been knitted thousands of times and featured in several books and charity campaigns.
This class will explore double pointed knitting, i-cords, several styles of increases, seaming, stuffing, adding weights, and more. It’s best if you have some experience with double pointed knitting, but if you’re feeling brave, then go for it.
We are very excited that Beryl, our friend and knitting sage, suggested having a class at YU on the Tit Bit, and donating all the proceeds to breast cancer charity. Please join us in knitting your very own Tit Bit (or two) in celebration of courage, strength, and friendship.
**All funds raised from this class will be donated to Willow Breast Cancer Support & Resource Services
- Skill Level: Knitters should be comfortable with double pointed needles
- Materials Required: Bring a set of double pointed needles in 4mm and in 3.75mm. DK weight yarn and stuffing will be donated by Beryl and the Yarns Untangled team, but if you have a favourite yarn you’d like to work with, please feel free to bring it along. Buttons, although optional, are such fun.
