Tin Can Knits: Design Your Own Colourwork Yoke
November 2, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Cost: $130/4hrs
Teacher: Alexa Ludeman of Tin Can Knits
Dates: Friday, November 2nd from 11am-3pm
This is a one-time, amazing opportunity to take a class with the incredible Alexa Ludeman of Tin Can Knits fame!
“Design your own colourwork yoke following Tin Can Knits’ versatile recipe. You’ll also learn about choosing a colour palette, yarn dominance in fair isle, and how to knit fair isle with two hands. If you come with the body and sleeves of the sweater already complete, you can get knitting on your yoke design during the class, if not, we’ll get you started with charts and a swatch hat!”
We are terribly honoured to be the only Toronto stop on Alexa’s tour of Ontario. In celebration of her visit, we will have limited copies of Strange Brew, a new collection of 14 beautiful colourwork patterns from Tin Can Knits (see the Ravelry listing for pictures of all the amazing patterns). Register for this class by October 21st and receive 15% off a preorder copy of this book!
Skill Level: Intermediate, some experience with fair isle colourwork required
Materials Required: a printed pattern for the Strange Brew sweater is included in your registration. Please bring: graph paper, pencil, stranded colorwork stitch dictionary if desired, DK weight yarn in a few colours for swatching or casting on a hat.
Optional homework: If you already own the pattern and come with the body and sleeves of the sweater already complete, you can get knitting on your yoke design during the class, if not, you’ll start out with charts and a swatch hat.
PLEASE NOTE: This class is not taking place at Yarns Untangled as we cannot accommodate the full group. It will take place at a private location nearby. If you are participating, please ask us for the address.
