Fearless Finishing, Part 2
January 13, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Cost: $45 for 2 hours
Teacher: Kate
Dates: Thursday, January 13th from 7 to 9pm
Many knitters avoid a lot of garment patterns because of the finishing work required, and even the most experienced knitters often have holes in their finishing knowledge – or simply lack confidence about them. The reason is simple: information in books and patterns is often very weak in this area, leaving knitters to try to figure it out themselves. This workshop demonstrates some practical, useful and sensible finishing skills. Our objective is to dispel a lot of common myths, break down some common sources of confusion, and take the fear out of it.
This boot camp comes in two parts. Register for one or both, it’s up to you!
In Part 2, we’ll talk about fiddlier seams – for other fabrics like ribbing and garter stitch, and setting in a sleeve; a deeper dive into picking up stitches, especially along curved edges, and grafting.
Skill Level: Part 2: we recommend you be comfortable with the materials covered in Part 1
Materials Required: No materials needed, but if you have projects ready for finishing, have them handy!
