There is less than one week left in our Socktober There is less than one week left in our Socktober Challenge with @stashlounge and @little.red.mitten. We’re a little behind in donations so we are sweetening the deal! As of time of posting, we are at about 250 pairs. First prize is a combo pack of gear and yarn valued at over $250. But if we can reach 450 pairs of socks donated, we will do a second draw for these four beautiful skeins of @lichenandlace 80/20 sock yarn! Drop off your donated pairs of unused, factory-made socks to our location at 86 Nassau anytime before 6pm on October 31st. Each pair counts as an entry into the draw. This technique is a great way to add personalized touches to your knits, and it's also an excellent one to master before tackling mending!⁠ ⁠ Duplicate Stitch⁠ Tuesday, October 29th from 6 to 8pm⁠ $60 per person⁠ ⁠ Duplicate Stitch (also called Swiss Darning) is a versatile technique that mimics the look of a knit stitch on top of fabric you've already made. It comes in handy for mending, reinforcing your work, and making small fixes to finished projects, but it's also a great way to add colour to your knitting without intarsia or stranded colourwork.⁠ ⁠ Because duplicate stitch motifs are embroidered into your work after the fact, it's a perfect technique for adding small touches like initials and simple designs to personalize your projects!
