Knitting in the Round: First Time Hats

Dates: Monday, August 21st from 6-8 pm

This is a great gateway class into the world of knitting in the round: hats, mittens, socks, cowls, sweaters, you name it!  This class will introduce you to casting on, both with a circular needle and then with double-pointed needles, joining your cast on stitches in the round without twisting, and will address several hazards that can arise with circular knitting. Using these techniques, we will get you started on a simple knitted hat, pattern included.

• Skill Level: Advanced beginner – knitters need to be proficient with knit, purl, cast-on, and bind-off
• Materials Required: Please bring a 4.5mm/US #7 24 inch circular needle and DPNs, approx. 100g of a medium-weight yarn.
